| Fungal toxins are one of the main pollutants in feed. So far, more than 300 types of fungal toxins with different structures have been discovered worldwide, of which more than 20 have been isolated and identified. There are mainly: aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), ochratoxin A (0TA), zearalenone (ZEN), citrinin, sterigmatocystins (ST), patulin (Pat), cycloplazonic acid (CPA), fumonisins (FMs), etc. When animals consume diets contaminated with mycotoxins, their health status can be affected, and the symptoms they exhibit can be diverse, such as decreased feed intake, slower growth rate, decreased antioxidant capacity, suppressed immunity, etc. However, without exception, all of them ultimately affect human and animal health and food safety, causing huge economic losses. In terms of fungal toxin control, China's "Feed Hygiene Standards" and "Pet Feed Hygiene Regulations" have made clear requirements for the limit of fungal toxins in feed, which plays an important role in ensuring feed hygiene and safety and protecting animal health. |
