After opening up self testing for african swine fever, which testing plan should pig farms choose?
Classical swine fever is a major animal disease in China. China mainly adopts the strategy of swine fever vaccine for prevention and control, and testing is the main purpose of evaluation. At present, the recommended methods for detecting swine fever by animal health organizations are ELISA detection and fluorescent antibody neutralization test. However, fluorescent antibody neutralization test has high requirements for experimental conditions and operators, and is time-consuming. It is only suitable for laboratory testing of a small number of samples and is not suitable for widespread application. Therefore, it can be said that the ELISA method is currently recognized as a suitable large-scale application method for detecting swine fever.
For farmers, opening up self inspection work for African swine fever allows them to have a stronger grasp of the situation on the farm and also helps stabilize the panic in the pig farming industry. For the detection of African swine fever, pig farms of different scales should adopt different supporting equipment and facilities. At present, there are two mainstream diagnostic methods: fluorescence quantitative PCR detection and test strips.
For general pig farms, as long as they are equipped with African swine fever detection test strips, 10-50 strips can be provided according to the scale of the pig farm. If there are abnormal fluctuations in the farm, they can be detected on site in a timely manner. Pay attention to the sampling method and precautions. If a sample suspected to be positive for African swine fever is unfortunately detected, it is recommended to repeat the multi card test to ensure accuracy. If you are not confident, send the relevant parts for PCR testing.
Pig farms need to be tested for early diagnosis, early treatment, and early isolation. However, it should be clear that pig farms only need to use suitable testing tools to help with "qualitative" analysis, without the need for quantitative analysis. If there are problems, they can be directly hunted and treated without harm.
